Rob Mitchell brings over 20 years of entertainment experience to the company, encompassing production, finance, distribution, operations, and strategic planning.
Formerly CFO at Hyde Park Entertainment, he managed the company’s overall finance activities, including production loans, financial reporting, budgeting, film forecasting, and worldwide distribution. Recent projects include PREMONITION (Sandra Bullock), and DEATH SENTENCE (Kevin Bacon).
Before Hyde Park, he served as SVP, Finance & Operations at Mobius Entertainment, producing such films as BORDERTOWN (Jennifer Lopez), and CHAOS (Jason Statham).
Previously, Mitchell spent 8 years as a finance executive at Beacon Pictures, involved in the box office hits AIR FORCE ONE (Harrison Ford), BRING IT ON (Kirsten Dunst), THE FAMILY MAN (Nicolas Cage), 13 DAYS (Kevin Costner), SPY GAME (Brad Pitt), RAISING HELEN (Kate Hudson), THE HURRICANE (Denzel Washington), and LADDER 49 (John Travolta). He oversaw the company’s production finance, worldwide sales/collections, financial modeling, management reporting, business plans, as well as managing first-look deals with Sony, Universal, and Disney.
Prior to Beacon, he served as a consultant to Village Roadshow Pictures. Rob began his career at The Samuel Goldwyn Company rising up to Controller, and was a key financial liaison during the company’s sale to Orion/MGM in 1997.
As CFO of Bold Films, Mitchell has overseen all production finance activities for the company’s film slate including LEGION (Sony) and DRIVE (Film District). Presently, he is working on Bold’s current production slate including NIGHTCRAWLER (Jake Gyllenhaal), THE COUP (Owen Wilson, Pierce Brosnan), WHIPLASH (Miles Teller), and BLACK BOX, a 13-episode television series for ABC.
Since 1990 he has been involved in the finance, production and distribution of over 25 motion pictures which have grossed $1.85 Billion in worldwide box office.
Mitchell has a B.A. in Economics/Business from UCLA and resides in Thousand Oaks, California with his wife and daughter.
